Moab, Utah…

The elements in this scene were quite simple from my point of view: rock wall, climber, gravity.
It’s certain this braver than I adventurer was deeply immersed in the details of cracks and carabiners, rope, chocks and knots…

Just a few more details…
Oh my!!! My idea of courageous!
Courageous yes, and having a lot of faith in that big fractured block of sandstone!
I am afraid that I would rely more on probabilities than faith….
Me too. That block of rock is probably going to pop out any moment.
Very nice click..
Thank you! As a point of reference I was about 150 yards away, the climber was already approx.100 feet up the wall.
It’s really amazing… nice shot really.
Simply mind-boggling…. both what she’s doing and your capture of it.
Agreed! I had the easier time of it, standing with both feet flat on pavement down the road.
Really stunning!
wow,amazing ……
Great entry for the challenge! Moab and Arches National Park are some of my favorite places in the world. Gorgeous photos!
Thank you, mine too. After a couple of trips just passing through, I made it a destination and spent 2 weeks there last March. I could have spent another two and still not seen the half of it… maybe next time!
Wow……
Did I truly miss that 2nd shot, or did you add it? That entire Four Corners region is pretty amazing, but I think Moab and Arches tops the list.
I added it Gunta, the post needed more details. Took me a little longer than anticipated, glad you came back! Moab is a perfect nexus for so much in that region.
I came here to thank you for liking my “Spawning Fish Underwater Tornados” post. I enjoyed visiting your blog and looking at your photographs. I especially like the second photograph in this post because it clearly shows the scale of the elements in the picture. I am impressed by the huge size of the rock wall and how small the climber looks in comparison to it.
Thank you! I like the swirling fish for the same reason, seeing the diver next to them put into perspective the size of the school and the individual fish. I’m just beginning underwater photography, and your post is inspiring.
What a great photo, the colours are amazing…and then we zoom in to see the climber. My son likes to do this and it still makes me nervous seeing him way up on a rock face.
It is a very challenging pastime, requiring physical strength and great focus. I admire those who can do it while at the same time wondering why… I’ve got basic climbing gear, but use it for stuff like putting tin roofs on houses.
